AMTS provides a range of services and technical expertise for Bottom maintenance in Blast Furnaces.

We have  in-depth knowledge and understanding of design concepts across the industry as well as refractory configurations to best match the bottom design and operating requirements.  Two examples follow:

Pre-cast shapes

  • Expansion calculations to support designs from floating out prematurely
  • Superior installed properties for abrasion resistance, strength, low porosity, and alkali resistance

Hearth Shotcrete

  • Allows for rapid repair of carbon and graphite brick
  • Low rebound rates
  • High thermal shock resistance compared to any Alumina/ SiC systems
  • Excellent thermal conductivity
  • Excellent alkali resistance
  • Special designed systems to avoid floating out of sections of the walls.
  • Variety of grades available to counteract specific operating conditions such as zinc and lead attack or high erosion
